We are pleased to inform you that the Co-Production Market of MIA|Mercato Internazionale Audiovisivo (inheriting the best practices and the 11-year experience of New Cinema Network) is now opening submissions for its next edition (October 21-23, 2016).
The Rome’s market has become a reference point where filmmakers and producers – selected among the world’s most interesting talents on the independent film scene – find an ideal platform for presenting their new feature film projects and connect with key players in the international film industry.
More than 50% of the projects selected by NCN over the past editions have completed funding and have become award-winning, internationally recognized films: among them, PEACE TO US IN OUR DREAMS by Sharunas Bartas (Cannes, Stockholm, Haifa); SWORN VIRGIN by Laura Bispuri (Berlin, Tribeca, BFI Flare); JAUJA by Lisandro Alonso (Cannes, San Sebastian, London, Karlovy Vary, Toronto, Busan); THE SELFISH GIANT by Clio Barnard (Cannes, Sarajevo, Karlovy Vary, Rio de janeiro, BFI London); SOUTH IS NOTHING by Fabio Mollo (Toronto, Berlin, Raindance, San Francisco); ZERO MOTIVATION by Talya Lavie (Tribeca, Vancouver, London, Hong Kong).
The MIA|Cinema Coproduction Market is honored to present once again in 2016 the Eurimages Co-Production Development Award: during the event, an International Jury will assign the Award, a cash prize of 20.000 Euros for the development of the best feature film project showcased that fulfills the criteria for collaboration and co-production that inspire Eurimages. Eligibility criteria and regulations of the award will be made available online prior to the event.
