MIA Market 2017 will host actor, director and producer Daniel Dae Kim in a MIA | TV panel of the “In Conversation With…” format, moderated by Marco Spagnoli, journalist and film & TV critic.
Daniel Dae Kim is mainly known to the public for his role of Jin Soo Kwon in the cult TV series Lost and later for that of Chin Ho Kelly in Hawaii Five-0, which he interpreted for seven seasons. As an actor he also won several awards for Outstanding Performance, such as an AZN Asian Excellence Award, a Multicultural Prism Award and a Vanguard Award from the Korean American Coalition.
Kim founded in 2014 his production company 3AD, developing original content and global formats, later sold to important players such as CBS, CW, ABC, SONY and TV Land. La società si impegna attivamente ad inserire nelle proprie produzioni personaggi e culture poco rappresentate nel panorama mediatico. The company is actively committed to include in their procuctions characters and cultures underrepresented in the media landscape.
He is also involved as a producer in the medical-drama tv series The Good Doctor, based on the 2013 South Korean series of the same name, developed by David Shore and produced by Sony Pictures Television e ABC Studios.
In 2009 he was recognized with the KoreAm Journal Achievement Award in the field of Arts and Entertainment for his extraordinary artistic career.
Interested in the community at large, he recently served as Cultural Envoy and Member of the U.S. Presidential Delegation for the United States at the World Expo in Korea.
