Abruzzo will also have its own Film Commission like Lazio and Puglia. Presented the initiative that involves several film production companies.
The commission will have the task of promoting the territory for film productions. The project, signed by the regional councillor Pierpaolo Pietrucci, will be presented at the Palazzetto dei Nobili in L’Aquila.
The funds for the project come from 3 sources: the Gentiloni law for cinema, the rural development plan and the funds of 4% of the reconstruction. The aim of the commission is to create an economic creature and promote the territory in order to face the tragedies that have hit the Region in recent years.
The sum available to the newly formed Film Commission amounts to 2 million euros, which will be used to attract film productions and which will be distributed through calls for proposals.
The Abruzzo Region is now looking to film companies interested in building studios such as Cinecittà for the Lazio Region.
