Banijay, the audiovisual production and distribution company, has acquired a majority stake in Balich Wonder Studio, a leading major events organiser operating in Europe and the Middle East. Under the leadership of creative director, Marco Balich, the company recorded a turnover of EUR 315 million in 2022.
“In this transformative growth phase, Banijay will combine the creative and commercial strengths of two exceptional companies to build a differentiated offering in the media and entertainment space,” reads Banijay’s note following the acquisition.
Balich Wonder Stud, which currently employs 280 people, is best known for producing live sporting events, such as the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Pan American Games and the FIFA World Cup 2022.
“Complementary to us in terms of ambition and entrepreneurship, Balich has reached the top level in the live events space and, thanks to this acquisition, has enormous potential for further pioneering growth,” remarked Marco Bassetti, CEO of Banijay.
