New lights shed on the Berlinale 2023 with the announcement of the titles selected in the Competition and Encounters categories.
The Competition section, the nerve centre of the event, brings together the world’s most important titles to provide an overview of contemporary film art. From these titles, the winner of the Golden Bear for Best Film will be selected at the awarding ceremony. Encounters, on the other hand, is the section dedicated to emerging talents and newcomers to the world of film, hosting a wide variety of genres, from documentaries to feature films.
The 73rd edition of the Berlin International Film Festival will take place over ten days, from 16th to 2th6 February 2023 at the Berlinale Palast in the German capital.
Among the titles in competition this year in the Competition section is an Italian film Disco Boy, Giacomo Abruzzese’s debut work. Also for Italy, The walls of Bergamo by Stefano Savona will be presented in the Encounters section.
