Box office podium unchanged from last week: Barbie confirms the top spot with weekly earnings of 10,406,726 and with total receipts of more than 18 million as of July 30, the film enters the top box office ranking since the 2021 reopenings, but it does not end there. Another important record wins it at home: in the U.S. market it is the film directed by a female director, Greta Gerwing, that has grossed the most on its first day of release in the entire history of cinema. In second and third place again this week are Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning – Part One with a gross of € 907,545 and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, which earns € 371,003 this week.
Elemental, the Disney-Pixar animated film, is still in fourth position with a weekly gain of € 354,741. In fifth place, however, takes over Haunting of the Queen Mary, a horror film released on July 19 and distributed by Eagle Pictures, which earns € 154,563. It is followed in sixth place by The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, back in a restored version in Warner Bros. theaters for the Warner Bros. Centennial, with a gross of € 135,927.
The thriller Insidious-The Red Door, from fifth position drops to seventh, earning €110,685 this week, followed by the new entry Daddy Unleashed, a comedy starring Robert De Niro, which grosses €110,312. Also this week we find in the ranking, in ninth place, a classic by master Hayao Miyazaki: Tenkū no shiro Rapyuta, released in theaters on July 27 as part of Lucky Red’s special review A World of Animated Dreams, grosses € 94,743. Closing the ranking is another animated film Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken, which from seventh drops down the ranking and comes in tenth place with a gain of € 89,796.
