Debut in first position at the box office for the biopic on the King of Rock directed by Baz Luhrmann, which grossed € 878,586 in its first days of programming and easily conquered the first position, a result likely to be repeated in the coming week.
In second position, as in the past seven days, we find Lightyear. Pixar’s spin-off has so far collected globally less than what it promised, and even in Italy this week it failed to reach the top, hitting second position again with € 696,025 for a total box office of € 1,667,250.
Top Gun: Maverick continues its march, confirming its third position with another € 627,028 in box office, bringing its total to € 10,151,956. The film starring Tom Cruise is just short of nabbing the third position as the season’s top grosser, surpassing the cinecomics The Batman. Meanwhile, globally, Top Gun: Maverick has passed the $1 billion mark.
In fourth position in the weekly Italian box office rankings we find Jurassic World: Dominion, which with another € 592,545 reaches € 6,884,214, while in fifth position another film distributed by Universal, the horror film Black Phone, rises in the rankings after previews, recording 229,616 for a total of € 278,772.
In sixth position we find the first Italian film fresh from the four awards it received at the Nastri d’Argento 2022, including those for best director and best leading actor: we are talking about Nostalgia, distributed by Medusa, which grosses € 53,091 reaching a total of € 1,245,456.
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 – The Movie, on the other hand, is the surprise of the last two weeks: excellent path for the anime distributed by Nexo Digital, which with the seventh position adds € 48,616 to the total haul of € 1,109,214.
In eighth position the second part of episodes of Exterior Night – Part 2 registers € 29,082 for a total result of € 209,581, while in ninth position we find The Young Lovers, a film distributed by I Wonder Pictures and starring Fanny Ardant, which debuts in the top ten with a gross of € 27,193. Finally, in tenth position the Swedish thriller The Other Side registers € 24,904 for a total of € 162,233.
