Twelve projects have won the Italy-France co-development call, announced by the Directorate General for Cinema of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities.
The Fund, established in 2013, aims to encourage co-productions of feature films between France and Italy. The call for co-development was addressed to projects of cinematographic works of any kind, lasting more than 75 minutes and intended for initial distribution in cinemas. It’s endowed with 500,000 euros, with a maximum ceiling of 50,000 euros per project. The budget was made available in equal parts by MiBAC and the Centre National du Cinéma et de l’Image Animée (CNC). The winners were announced by the Commission of the Italy-France Fund, which identified 12 projects of which 8 were Italian majorities, 3 French majorities and 1 was equal.
Some of the winning projects:
- Decadenza by Céline Gailleurd and Oliver Bohler (65% Italian co-production): €33,000.
- Tredici giovedì by Berardo Carboni (75% Italian co-production): €50,000.
- I colpevoli in me by Julien Sicard and Francois Olivier Rousseau (Italian co-production for 28.33%): €45,000.
- Dona Garcia by Marie-José Sanselme and Amos Gitaï (20% Italian co-production): €50,000.
- Italia a mano armata by Jean-Baptiste Thoret (25% Italian co-production): €30,000.
