Film censorship will be the star of Proibitissimo!, a new project set up to be released from the 23rd of March to the 15th of April in PAV (Parco Arte Vivente di Torino). Born from Irene Dionisio‘s idea and created by Viola Invernizzi, the show retrieves from the archives extracts of Italian films that were censored in the past years. The project team has selected some scenes from more than 60 films from 1951 to 1998 has brought them to the big screen, following four core issues: violence, religion politics and sexuality.
The compilation, which will also be accompanied by fotographies, archive files, parts of scripts and scenography, has been directed by the Centre d’Art Contemporain in Geneva and Hangar Creatività, in cooperation with Associazione Museo Nazionale del Cinema, Film Commission Torino, Dufong Film and Wild Strawberries Association.
