Yesterday, September 3rd, 2019, during the 76th Venice International Film Festival, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities (MiBAC) and the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR) presented the new calls for proposals of the Cinema for Schools National Plan for the school year 2019/2020. The deadline for submitting the projects is September 30th, 2019.
At its second edition, the Plan aims to include the cinematic and audiovisual language in schools as an educational tool that can facilitate learning.
The budget for the school year 2019/2020 amounts to € 12 million, including the initiatives Cinema Scuola Lab, Visioni Fuori Luogo, Buone Pratiche, Rassegne e Festival, and the new edition of the National Cinema for Schools Day. New initiatives such as the national project “A scuola con Fellini”, dedicated to the centenary of the birth of Federico Fellini, are also part of the Plan.
For the school years 2017/2018 and 2018/2019, the Cinema for Schools National Plan has made available € 23.5 million, with 5 calls destined to institutions, foundations, associations and schools, showing a wide participation with more than 800 projects presented and 496 projects funded.
