The new budget of 2.24 billion euros for the Creative Europe programme 2021-2027 has been confirmed.
The implementation of the program, dedicated to supporting the cultural and creative sector, is expected – as evident – for the beginning of 2021 and will run until 2027.
The negotiators of the European Parliament and the EU Council met this Monday, led for the European Parliament by the Chair of the Culture Committee of the EP Sabine Verheyen (PPE) and European Parliament Rapporteur for Creative Europe 2021-2027 Massimiliano Smeriglio (S&D).
Smeriglio himself declared: “Excellent news for Europe and for Italy. 2.2 billion euros in seven years for the cultural sectors, for cinema and media, for creative productions. An important and completely new opening for the music sector and an unprecedented attention to social inclusion”.
