Deep State is a European TV production from Fox set to be released in Italy on the 9th of April. “We tell about the dismay and uncertainty that we experience when we watch the news”, says Mark Strong, who will be playing the main character. The idea is to “exploit” the sense of paranoia that develops when we read or watch the news. In the eight episodes those feelings of distress, suspense, and delusion. There will be a feeling of not fully understanding who is “on the good side, and who’s on the bad side”.
The name of the series itself, Deep State, refers to a famous sentence spoken by president Trump about an alleged conspiracy between the economic, political and military powers.
After Kingsman and The Mole, Strong is already specialized in this type of spy roles, while the direction and the scenography of this project will be in the hands of Matthew Parkhill. “Trump, Kim Yong-Un, people disappearing and the aggressivity of the Russians. We will also be dealing with all these issues”, said Matthew.
