Cinema S.r.l. has acquired two films selected from Cannes’ Quinzaine des Realisateurs (Directors’ Fortnight): Sean Baker’s The Florida Project tells of summer holidays of a group of six-year-old kids (starring Willem Dafoe, Bria Vinaite, Brooklynn Prince and Valeria Cotto); Claire Denis’ Let the Sunshine In, the romantic comedy film starring Juliette Binoche, Valeria Bruni Tedeschi and Gérard Depardieu.
From the Film Market, Valerio De Paolis’ company has acquired Disobedience by Sebastián Lelio, starring Rachel Weisz and Rachel McAdams; Philippe Godeau’s Racine, a movie where Omar Sy (The Intouchables, Demain tout commence) plays a young Senegalese man leaving his village to meet his myth, a famous French actor. Lastly, Cinema will also distribute David Robert Mitchell’s Under the Silver Lake, a neo-noir thriller film starring Andrew Garfield.
