Les Arcs Festival has revealed the 18 projects in development of the Co-Production Village, which will take place between December 11 and December 13. These titles have been selected among 311 submitted projects and will compete for the ArteKino International Prize, worth 6000 euros.
Of the 18 works selected, 9 are first features, 6 second features and 7 are directed by women.
Some of these filmmakers are already known by the public thanks to their previous works, like Dušan Kasalica, Montenegro Oscar Best Foreign Film candidate with The Elegy of Laurel, Júlia De Paz Solvas, nominated for the 2020 Goya for Best Adaptation with Ama, Vania Leturcq, nominated in 2016 for the Magritte Best First Film with Next Year, Mees Peijnenburg, selected for the Generation section at the 2020 Berlinale with Paradise Drifters, Henry Blake, known for his County Lines, Faraz Shariat, nominated in the Panorama section of the 2020 Berlinale with No Hard Feelings, Oleh Sentsov nominated in the Venice Film Festival Orizzonti section in 2021 with Rhino and Sandra Wollner who won Encounters Special Jury Prize at the 2020 Berlinale with The Trouble with Being Born.

In addition, the Industry Village has selected 8 emerging filmmakers to be part of the Talent Village, a 3-days workshop sponsored by Finnish director Juho Kuosmanen and tutored by Danish producer Katrin Pors, co-founder of Festival Scope Mathilde Henrot, director of acquisitions at mk2 Films Olivier Barbier and music supervisor Martin Caraux.
Beside taking part in the workshop the selected directors will also be in the running for a prize worth 2000 € awarded by a small jury consisting of managing director of TrustNordisk Susan Wendt, French producer Julie Billy and former director of Cannes Festival Cinefondation Georger Goldenstern.
