MERCATO INTERNAZIONALE DELL’AUDIOVISIVO
AT THE TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
The MIA – Mercato Internazionale dell’Audivisivo, the International Audiovisual Market directed by Lucia Milazzotto, will be present on Monday September 14th at the Toronto International Film Festival, the first leg of an international journey that will lead to its final destination in Rome, October 16th to 20th at the Baths of Diocletian.
The intent of MIA is to be an innovative hub serving the Italian audiovisual sector, working towards the internationalization of the entire industry, and gathering all the most important concerns and organizations in the fields of Cinema, Television, Documentary Filmmaking, Animation and Gaming operating at the international level.
MIA will be a “hub” in which to find the finest content and explore the future of the audiovisual world, a new system for synergetic relationships and collaboration between institutions, professionals and operators from around the world; to support networking and co-productions; and to debate the most significant issues regarding the goals and the growth of the industry.
Market players from every continent have already confirmed their participation, demonstrating high expectations and trust, and substantiating the need for an event that finally gathers together all the voices in the audio-visual industry. MIA will be attended by visitors from Europe, the United States, Canada, Latin America, Japan, China, Australia, Korea, Cuba, the Middle East and from countries that are growing rapidly in both structural terms and product consumption, such as Vietnam, the Philippines, Myanmar, Thailand, Singapore and Taiwan.
MIA’s work has been made possible by the commitment of some of the finest professionals in the field, who are the members of the Board of this event.

MIA is produced by Anica, Apt, Doc.It and the Fondazione Cinema per Roma. It is made possible thanks to the support of the Ministry for Economic Development and ICE – Italian Trade Promotion Agency, and will be endorsed by the Ministry for the Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism and by Istituto Luce – Cinecittà. It will also count on the collaboration of the Roma Lazio Film Commission, in synergy with the national film commissions.
