Netflix has unveiled its new programming at See What’s Next. Let’s find out what the streaming giant will bring:
Yesterday, April 18th, Netflix landed in Rome for the See What’s Next event. Managers, actors, and directors gathered in the two-day gathering in Rome to announce the new programming. It will be a year full of new activities for the streaming platform, which is planning to increase its global and local productions, especially in the area of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
The Chief Content Officer, Ted Sarandos said during the panel: “We believe that great stories transcend borders. When stories from different countries, languages, and cultures find a global platform where the only limit is the creator’s imagination, it is then that that one only, but at the same time universal story, emerges and is embraced by a global audience “. The Netflix catalog will, therefore, operate in different countries with different contents and in 16 different languages. The data from 2017 regarding the number of projects and people employed will double in 2018, and efforts will be made to keep a focus on both on the quality of the products and their availability to the public.
The new Netflix programming will also have a strong Italian presence.
- Suburra 2: the second season of the TV series will be set in Rome;
- Baby: a new series with Benedetta Porcaroli, Alice Pagani, Isabella Ferrari and Claudia Pandolfi, the shooting of which has just begun, inspired by the “baby squillo” scandal in the Roman district of Parioli ;
- The new original series Luna Nera, produced by Fandango, about the story of a group of women accused of witchcraft in Italy in the 17th
- Rimetti a noi i nostri debiti, the first Italian Netflix original film, with Claudio Santamaria and Marco Giallini
Netflix executives have announced that they will increase their presence in the old continent, investing record numbers to produce new projects. - The first original Dutch series, produced by Pupkin;
- Mortel(France), produced by Mandarin Television;

- House of Paper 3(Spain);
- The English Game(Great Britain), produced by 42;
- Turn Up Charlie (Great Britain) produced by Idris Elba and Gary Reich;
- Dark 2, which shootings will begin in June;

Besides, many other new titles will be added to its already well-stocked catalog. Good news also comes from overseas for TV series fans, with the official announcement of the third season of Stranger Things that will be released in 2019.
