Paramount Global will integrate Paramount+ and Showtime on both traditional and streaming channels.
In fact, the American audiovisual giant announced the reworking of the streaming service into Paramount+ with Showtime, which will combine the two programming, linear and on-line. The same name will also be taken by the traditional channel.
This is the second rebranding for the US SVoD service: it was launched in 2014 under the name CBS All Access, before being renamed Paramount+ in 2021 following the merger between CBS and Viacom that gave rise to Paramount Global.
The new offerings will be activated from the end of 2023 and, at least for the time being, will be restricted to the US market only.
This news was accompanied by the announcement of the cancellation of several Paramount products, including Let The Right One In, American Gigolo and Three Women.
