No Women No Panel, the memorandum of understanding signed by Rai in 2022, saw yesterday 24th October 2023 the addition of a new signatory: Confindustria.
The initiative in question was launched by the European Commission in 2018 with the aim of achieving a balanced gender participation in communication events and to promote an educational adjustment on the role of women in society.
Confindustria is the first business association to sign the memorandum. Taking part in the signing ceremony yesterday were Confindustria’s Vice President for the Environment, Sustainability and Culture, Katia Da Ros, and Rai President, Marinella Soldi. The signing took place in the presence of the European Commission representation in Italy.
Rai President Marinella Soldi said at the event: “I believe that Confindustria’s membership will make the impact of this initiative in favour of gender equality even more significant and strong. In fact, after political and cultural institutions, the business world, the places of doing, where the advantages, also competitive ones, of an increasingly equal participation of men and women are experienced in daily work, joins the No Women No Panel network.”
“Confindustria fully supports the principle, value and culture of gender equality, also understood as plural and equal participation in public debate, with a view to eliminating the stereotypes and prejudices that still persist in society. An equal gender culture, together with social, economic and environmental sustainability, represent the indispensable competitive levers for the country’s development.” added Confindustria Vice President Katia Da Ros.
