As reported by Variety, Roberto Saviano will direct the film adaptation of I’m Still Alive, a graphic novel based on his life drawn by Asaf Hanuka.
I’m Still Alive is an animated film, in the creation of which Asaf Hanuka, former designer of Waltz with Bashir, will participate. The plot is based on the life of the Italian writer, who was forced to live under escort after denouncing the work of the Camorra in Gomorrah.
The graphic novel is published by Archaia, a Boom! Studios internationally and by BAO Publishing in Italy. The book was released in bookshops in October 2022.
I’m Still Alive is an international co-production involving MAD Entertainment, Lucky Red, GapBusters and Sipur and will premiere at Cartoon Movie, the event dedicated to European animated feature films organised with Media-Europa Creativa that will be held in Bordeaux from 7 to 9 March 2023.
