The 5th edition of Italy on Screen Today – New York film & TV Series Fest, created to promote Italian cinema and audiovisual abroad, will run from today, December 23 until 29 across the United States, for the first time on MyMovies platform.
This edition was made possible thanks to the contribution of the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism – General Directorate of Cinema and Audiovisual, with the support of Consulate General of Italy in New York, Italian Cultural Institutes of New York, in collaboration with Leone Film Group, Rai Cinema, Casa Zerilli-Marimò of New York University, Stony Brook University, “La giornata mondiale del cinema italiano” with the patronage of Regione Lazio, Strategica Communication, APA (the Italian Audiovisual Producers Association) and Roma-Lazio Film Commission, in partnership with Italy for Movies.
The “virtual cinemas” will host meetings with special guests, thematic panels, films, TV movies and TV series: among these, Romulus by Matteo Rovere and My Brilliant Friend, both presented at MIA within the frame of GREENLit, respectively in 2020 and 2018.
Romulus – created by Matteo Rovere – is produced by Sky, Cattleya (part of ITV Studios) and Groenlandia.
My Brilliant Friend is produced by Fandango, Wildside and The Apartment (Fremantle), co-produced with Umedia, in collaboration with Rai Fiction, HBO and TIMvision, with the support of the Regione Campania, Film Commission Regione Campania, the municipalities of Naples, Caserta and Ischia and the MEDIA program of the European Union.
