A call for selective contributions for writing, development and production of film and audiovisual works has been opened by DGCA. It will be 44.7 million euros divided into: screenplay writing (1.2 million euros); development (3 million euros); production (40.5 million euros).
There will be several new features this year. Among these is certainly the increase in resources for the production line of intervention, which will be 40.5 million euros, as opposed to 38.1 last year. In the 2023 call for proposals, moreover, producers will be required to spend on Italian territory an amount not less than 160 percent of the allocated contribution.
The increase concerns in particular films of established artistic quality, for which the total allocation provided is 13.5 million euros. Also with reference to these, the maximum allocation for works of extraordinary artistic quality also increases, which can be financed to a maximum of 8.1 million euros.
In order to facilitate the realization of the work, from this year projects submitted by companies that have already benefited from three project development grants for which final nationality has not been requested will not be eligible.
Applications can be submitted through the DGCOL IT platform by participating in three evaluation sessions that will refer to three different time windows:
May 15 to May 30, 11:59 p.m.
July 1 to 15, 11:59 p.m.
Sept. 27 to Oct. 18, 11:59 p.m.
