The jury of the 56th Cannes’ Critics’ Week (Semaine de la Critique) has awarded the prestigious Nespresso Grand Prize to Emmanuel Gras’ Makala, the only documentary among the competing films. Produced by Bathysphère, the documentary is set in Congo and follows a charcoal seller willing to do anything to provide a better future for his family. Les Films du Losange will distribute the film in France and sell it on the international market.
