In its archives the SIUSA portal has made available fragments of interviews and testimonies with the aim of offering a contribution to the knowledge and diffusion of oral sources.
This initiative makes accessible the meticulous collection carried out by Istituto Centrale per gli Archivi, which has recovered some declarations of life lived, family movies and shootings of different events.
In the archives there are sources from companies, personalities from the world of culture, entertainment and some of the most authoritative centers in the field (among the main ones: Istituto Luce, Istituto di Bibliografia Musicale, Istituto di ricerca per il teatro musicale in Rome).
From a while already the Archival Administration has been committed to the collection and protection of these documents starting with the first censuses published in 1993 by the Central Office for Archival Assets.
In 2019, a working group composed of various Italian cultural and scientific bodies edited the Vademecum for the treatment of oral sources. A revision is currently underway and it will be published in October 2021.
