Kathryn is the Director of Television at Special Broadcasting Service (SBS).
SBS is a hybrid funded public service broadcaster that holds a unique place in the Australian media landscape, as a multiplatform and multilingual media network dedicated to inspiring all Australians to explore, respect and celebrate our diverse world. SBS has a free-to-air TV portfolio spanning six channels in SBS, National Indigenous Television (NITV), SBS VICELAND, SBS Food, SBS World Movies, and SBS WorldWatch; an extensive audio content network delivering services in more than 60 languages; and an innovative digital presence. Kathryn oversees the content and operations of SBS’s television offering and streaming service, including the commissioning of ground-breaking original Australian content, the acquisition of programming from around the globe, programming across its television portfolio, and the growth of leading streaming destination SBS On Demand. Kathryn has more than 30 years’ industry experience working in major media markets in the U.S. Europe and Asia, and in senior roles across the media industry including at the Walt Disney Company, Sky Italia and News Corp.
Prior to returning to Australia and joining SBS in July 2022, Fink was most recently General Manager, Media for the Walt Disney Company in Italy responsible for Disney+, PayTV channels, original content production and content sales up until 2021. She has also served as Managing Director at the Fox Networks Group in Italy and played a key role in the launch of Sky Italia in 2003. During her time at Sky Italia, Kathryn served as Head of Programming managing Sky’s owned and operated cinema and entertainment channels, overseeing all original productions and partner channels on the Sky Italia platform.
