With almost 20 years of experience in the international film and TV industry, Marike recently joined the Nordisk Film Production management team (Denmark/Sweden/Norway) as Head of International Financing and Coproductions. She started her career at Fortissimo Films and RTL Netherlands, but really developed an interest for quality storytelling and international partnerships during her 15 years at the Lumiere Group in the Benelux, where she was responsible for sales, acquisitions, coproductions and international financing in production and distribution, and she also co-lead the whole group as Lumiere’s co-CEO.
At Nordisk Film Production, Marike Muselaers is responsible for strengthening the financing of film and series projects and developing an ambitious strategy for co-productions. She also works closely with streaming services, broadcasters and others that are partnering with Nordisk Film Production.
Next to connecting the best storytellers with the right partners for Nordisk Film Production, Marike is coaching (Central Eastern European) producers and writers in her role as Financing Tutor for the Midpoint Series Launch program. She also enjoys being a mentor at training programs like Qumra Series, Cinelink Sarajevo and SeriesWomen, and she is a member of the advisory board of TV Drama Vision and Nostradamus at the Göteborg Film Festival. Marike is also a well-known moderator, keynote speaker and panel guest at many industry events like Berlinale, Cannes Film Festival, NEM Zagreb, SeriesMania, TV Beats Tallinn, Content London and the European Showrunner Program, and she holds an MBA for the Creative Industries.
Marike is originally from the Netherlands, she also lived in Italy, and she spent most of her career working for a Belgian company. She is now based in Sweden and also responsible for Denmark and Norway. In her other roles she works a lot with Central Eastern Europe and beyond. Basically, Marike is a European coproduction herself, and her passion remains to connect and align compelling stories, cultures and characters with international partners in this fast-paced, challenging, but never boring industry.
