Currently serving as the CEO of Vision Distribution SPA, a company within the multinational group COMCAST/SKY, Massimiliano Orfei is actively involved in the film and audiovisual production and distribution industry in Italy and worldwide. Vision Distribution was founded in 2017 as part of the multinational TWENTY CENTURY FOX/SKY group through a joint venture with five major independent Italian film producers (Cattleya, Wildside, Palomar, Indiana Productions, and Italian International Film). The company quickly established itself as a key player in the national theatrical market and has expanded its presence in the international film distribution markets since 2020.
Previous Professional Roles at Vision Distribution
From 2018 to 2021, he held the position of General Manager at Vision Distribution, overseeing all operational activities of the company, including finance, marketing, sales, legal, business affairs, and human resources. During his tenure as General Manager, the company became part of the Comcast Group in 2018. From 2017 to 2018, he served as the CFO and General Counsel at Vision Distribution. Prior to joining Vision Distribution, he gained extensive experience in the film and television production and distribution sector, first at Rai Radiotelevisione Italiana SPA, and later at Rai Cinema and 01 Distribution. In 2017, he left Rai to join the newly established Vision Distribution, where he played a pivotal role as Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel in building, launching, and establishing the startup company in the market.

Since 2020, he has been a member of the Board of Directors and a founding partner of “Academy.” Academy is a foundation formed by NETFLIX, CBS/VIACOM, Medusa Film, Rai Radiotelevisione Italiana, and Vision Distribution, with the mission of providing professional training in the field of film and audiovisual content creation, production, and distribution. The foundation finances and organizes training courses and specialized programs in Italy and abroad across various aspects of the film and audiovisual industry. Since 2021, he has been serving as an elected member of the General Council of the Union of Film Producers (ANICA), which is part of Confindustria/Associazione Nazionale delle Industrie Cinematografiche e Audiovisive. In this role, he contributes to discussions and decision-making related to the most significant industrial issues affecting the film and TV sector. Since 2021, he has also been a member of the Scientific Committee of the “Italy Untold” Think Tank.
