True Colours has closed many important deals at the 2017 edition of Marché du Film (Film Market) in Cannes: Sergio Castellitto’s Fortunata, competing in the Un Certain Regard section, has been sold to France (Paname Distribution), Latin America (Fenix Distribuidora), Balkans (Stars Media), Greece (Seven Films), China (Times Vision), Hungary (Mozinet), Bulgaria (Bulgaria Film Vision) and Australia (Palace Film). Negotiations with Spain are ongoing.
The group has also closed several deals for Simone Godano’s Wife & Husband, starring Pierfrancesco Favino and Kasia Smutniak. The film has been sold to Taiwan (Swallow Wings), Estonia (Estin Film), China (Time Vision), Turkey (Film Medya), Russia (New People Film Company) and Australia (Palace Film).
Other deals concern the pre-sale of Napoli Velata, Ferzan Özpetek’s next film featuring Giovanna Mezzogiorno and Alessandro Borghi. The movie is currently in production. It will be distributed by Warner Bros in Italy in January 2018 and rights have been sold to Swallow Wings for Taiwan. Taiwan also acquired Ficarra e Picone’s It’s The Law! (AV-Jet) and Edoardo De Angelis’ Indivisible (Movie Cloud).
Deals with China have been productive in fact several titles’ rights have been sold to three different distributors: Luca Miniero’s Messy Christmas and Gianluca Ansanelli’s From Naples With Love have been sold to HY Media, Michele Vannucci’s I Was A Dreamer has been acquired by Times Vision and Melting Culture has purchased Massimo Gaudioso’s An Almost Perfect Town.
Australian Palace Films has acquired a bundle including Fortunata, Wife & Husband, It’s The Law!,Messy Christmas, An Almost Perfect Town, Indivisible e I Was A Dreamer.
Furthermore, Japanese Mimosa has purchased rights to distribute Roberto Andò’sThe Confessions.
