Si è svolta giovedì 13 aprile la conferenza stampa di presentazione della Selezione ufficiale del 76° Festival di Cannes. Presieduto dalla presidente Iris Knobloch e dal delegato generale Thierry Frémaux, l’incontro ha svelato la line-up del festival, tra nuove opere ed eccellenti conferme.
Il Sol dell’Avvenire di Nanni Moretti, La Chimera di Alice Rohrwacher e Rapito di Marco Bellocchio sono i tre film italiani che si sfideranno per la Palma d’oro. Tra gli altri, Wes Anderson con Asteroid City, il regista giapponese Hirokazu Kore’eda con Monster, Wim Wenders con Perfect Days e Ken Loach con The Old Oak.
Nella sezione fuori concorso, Un Certain Regard, saranno presentati i registi emergenti e in ascesa provenienti da tutto il mondo. Tra questi spicca un’opera prima della Mongolia, “If Only I Could Hibernate” di Zoljargal Purevdash. Inoltre, Certain Regard si aprirà con il film francese “Le Règne Animal” di Thomas Cailley.
“Abbiamo visto più di 2.000 film. Questi numeri sono stravaganti e, allo stesso tempo, riflettono lo stato di salute del cinema mondiale e l’aspirazione a fare film ovunque”, ha detto Fremaux, evidenziando, inoltre, come la Selezione Ufficiale non è ancora chiusa e ulteriori nuovi film si aggiungeranno alla lista nei prossimi giorni.
